Robin Darling, Advisory Board Member, has been involved in sexuality education for over two decades. She began her career in the field as a peer educator for Planned Parenthood during high school. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego (2004). Her undergraduate research focused on teenagers’ presentation of self in an academic setting. Robin worked as safer sex and HIV prevention educator for San Diego Youth and Community Services’ Peer Education Empowerment Program for 5 years before returning to school to complete her Master’s in Sexuality Studies (2011). Her master’s thesis explored how identification with and involvement in LGBT community relates to relationship factors for sexual minority women partnered with trans men. During her graduate work she received SFSU’s 2010 Jim Brogan Teaching Scholarship. She continued her career as a peer health HIV prevention educator and a research interviewer and qualitative coder for several studies about relationships, sexual health, and HIV prevention. Robin held various roles for San Francisco’s Center for Research and Education on Gender and Sexuality, including the program coordinator for their annual Summer Institute on Sexuality. Additionally, she has developed curriculum and trained health educators internationally as an independent contractor for various organizations. Robin Darling is currently the Patron Services Manager at a medium-sized, non-profit theatre in Orange County. Outside of work, Robin loves playing board games and she dances Lindy Hop and Balboa. Pronouns: She, her, hers
