Sex Nerds Professional Discussion Group
Meet-up with the Community!
Our team organizes a regular Sex Nerd Discussion Group to create an opportunity for educators, facilitators, health professionals, experts, and those with a strong interest in healthy sexuality and relationships to build community. We gather every other month on zoom to discuss topics, support each other, share ideas, and hopefully learn something. This year’s sessions will be a mix of discussions, skill shares, and guest lectures/panels.
If you are a self-described Sex Nerd, we'd love to include you in the conversation!
Please complete this brief survey so we can get to know you a bit better.

Thursday, Apr. 16, 2026 5:30p - 7p | Sexual Health and Safety: Education, Compassion, and Stigma-Reduction
Sex education, at its most basic level, should give people information about health risks and harm-reduction, and we know that plenty of young people don’t even receive that. But we also know that comprehensive and inclusive sex-ed should cover so much MORE THAN just the condom-on-the-banana (pun intended). Educators and researchers know that negative attitudes about sexually transmissible infections (STIs) have the potential to do more harm than the infections themselves, because they lead people to avoid conversations, refuse to use barrier methods, and skip necessary medical care. Let’s brush up on our medical knowledge of sexual health needs, and discuss how we can share this information with others in a way that respects autonomy and removes guilt, shame, and embarrassment.
