Join us in Celebrating 28 Years of The Wall Las Memorias: Providing Sex-Ed for Social Change

The Wall Las Memorias (TWLM) is a community health and wellness organization dedicated to serving Latino, LGBTQ+ and other under-served populations through advocacy and education while building the next generation of leadership. More Than Sex-Ed (MTSE) is so happy to be developing new connections with the TWLM team. The important work they have been doing for nearly three decades aligns with our MTSE mission so well, and we are delighted to be participating in the Rooted and Rising Community Youth Fair on May, 14th, 2022, at 2 PM hosted by TWLM At Plaza de La Raza in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles. This event will focus on providing adolescents with FREE health services and workshops, as well as raising awareness and community support for young advocates, substance use prevention, and LGBTQ+ youth and their families. We hope to see you there!

Eyebrows knit together, he raised his hand.

“So . . . if you ask somebody if they want to have sex, and they say no . . . can you still say, like, ‘ok, do you want to cuddle?’ Like, is that okay?”

Question Box

We got this absolutely priceless question from a young boy in a class not long ago; the lesson

year-olds, he raised his hand, looking confused. “So if having a period is where the body just,

In a Heartbeat: Do you remember your first crush?

The butterflies in your stomach, a racing heart and utter speechlessness, the film produced by Beth David and Esteban Bravo, perfectly captures the feelings of having a crush.  What the duo from Ringling College of Art and Design managed to convey was not only the emotions of seeing a crush but also "the experience of countless LGBTQ youth".  The film is about "a young boy struggling to come to terms with his feelings for a handsome peer" and the emotions present is relatable across all boundaries.

At More Than Sex Ed, we understand that communication is vital to a healthy relationship.  Although it can be hard to talk to your crush, More than Sex-Ed provides workshops that are supportive of relationship communication for kids and teens.  To learn more about workshops, check out our website at morethansex-ed.org !
